Happy Girl

Early childhood learning provides a strong foundation for children’s early development, offers vital support to families and contributes to breaking the cycle of poverty by helping children reach their full potential.

Children who participate in a high-quality early learning environment are:

More likely

To perform better in school

To enroll in secondary education

To be gainfully employed

And less likely

To be held back in school

To participate in criminal activity

To be dependent on public assistance

Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships

Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships bring together the best of both worlds – combining the strengths of child care and Early Head Start programs. Benefits for children and families inlcude:

  • Low child-to-teacher ratios and smaller, high-quality educational environments.

  • Developmental screening and referral to needed medical, dental, nutrition, vision and mental health services.

  • Provision of diapers and formula.

  • Access to home visits, parent engagement activities and family support workers who help the family meet its goals.

The Early Head Start Child Care Partnership sites are eligibility-based programs. Please refer to the Eligibility Verification Form to see what criteria you meet before contacting the center to complete a waiting list application. Your family will be prioritized based on the information you provide. Ages served are 6 weeks to 3 years.
